The sports hall is closed, the coach is ill, the pitch is waterlogged. You cancel the session from the car park in ten seconds: every family in the group gets the notification within a minute.
Free and unlimited for a club: channels, members, A4 poster.
The problem
On Wednesday, the sports hall is closed for a water leak. The coach has known since 5pm. Parents find out when they arrive, with their daughter in her kit on the pavement.
Meanwhile, the news has gone the usual way: a call to the chair, a message to the secretary, a post on a Facebook page nobody checks, and a WhatsApp group missing half the families.
With Ohey, whoever has the news posts it. The coach cancels the session themselves, and only the parents of that group are told.
How it works
“U11 — Wednesday”, “Toddler gym — Saturday”: your usual schedule, entered in two minutes or linked to your calendar.
Print the A4 poster with the schedule and QR code, or send the link. Parents scan it, no account, no phone number.
Tap the session, “Cancel”, a reason. Parents are told, the schedule is up to date, and so are the families’ calendars.
What you get
No computer, no password: the session, “Cancel”, the reason, done.
You collect nothing, and parents never see each other’s details. Data protection stops being an issue.
Changes stand out in the app and reach every family’s calendar.
Invite your coaches: each posts to their own channels, the club stays in charge.
No “thanks”, no photos, no debate: the cancellation doesn’t get lost.
Unlimited channels and members, no ads, no commitment.
Frequently asked questions
About ten seconds: tap the session in the schedule, “Cancel”, and pick a reason (hall closed, weather, coach away). Parents subscribed for immediate notifications are told within a minute.
No. They install the app or open the web version, then scan the group’s QR code. No e-mail, no phone number, no password.
Link your calendar once (Google, Outlook or any iCal address): a session cancelled or moved in your calendar automatically tells the parents.
A group exposes every parent’s phone number, mixes the important news with replies and photos, and every new family has to be added by hand. Ohey only carries the club’s news, and everyone subscribes on their own with the QR code.
Yes: a club or association on its own uses Ohey for free, without limits. Only bodies that bring several clubs together (committees, town halls) have a paid plan.
